Nominated teams

Bio Recycling of agricultural waste
The Bio Recycling of Agricultural Waste Project focuses on converting agricultural waste into organic fertilizers instead of dealing with it negatively, such as burning, stacking, or dumping it in landfills, which leads to environmental damage, health risks, and economic waste. The biological production process involves producing vermicompost (worm compost) and biochar, which are natural and eco-friendly alternatives to chemical fertilizers and pesticides. This process improves soil health, enhances agricultural productivity, promotes environmental sustainability, and supports organic farming.
Ihfazha
The ``Ihfazha`` Project aims to manufacture pharmaceutical products from active ingredients wasted in pruning and distillation residues. The project focuses on research and development in recycling the byproducts of Taif roses, enhancing the value of plant waste, and reusing the active biological components of these materials. This approach aligns with one of the key goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in promoting sustainable consumption and production patterns with locally manufactured products.
Namaa for Development, Recycling, and Innovation
``Namaa for Development, Recycling, and Innovation`` is an innovative idea in the field of biotechnology that focuses on sustainable solutions. They specialize in converting organic waste into high-value products through advanced biotechnology processes. Their goal is to reduce food waste while creating profitable by-products that can be utilized across various industries. Currently, they are in the laboratory-scale operational phase, fine-tuning the techniques and validating the process on a smaller scale. With a focus on scaling up production, the project is committed to enhancing both environmental and economic benefits through sustainable bioremediation.
Flawless
The project uses chitin, extracted from crustaceans, as a natural pesticide that is plant-friendly and non-harmful to humans. Chitin is biodegradable and has proven effective in eliminating harmful microbes to plants by breaking down the microbial surface and inhibiting their spread. The natural pesticide acts as a safe substance for both plants and humans, combating plant diseases and improving soil quality as a fertilizer. The project aims to use this product in the agricultural, health, industrial, and other sectors.
